Right after Christmas I was reading the messages over at Whoduknit? When I saw an inquiry from Patty about Caps to the Capital/Save the Children. What a great idea. So I quickly abandoned the project I had going and knit 9 little caps. This was a fabulous way to end 2006 and start 2007 and perhaps one of my resolutions should be to do charity knitting every holiday season.
Click on the link under Knittie by Good to get updates on the caps. I think they will all be presented to the president on Jan. 31. It will be interesting to see how many caps were made. More than 50,000 had been sent in by October, and there was an article in the local paper about the hundreds of caps that had been made by a Senior's group on Long Island, NY.
